greenLed - conserving energy with bright ideas
about us

Greenled Light Ltd

The plan behind Greenled was initially conceived in early 2006 on a walk high in the Tatra Mountains in south-eastern Poland, when James Millar and Ian Peter MacDonald, both experienced business builders and alumni of Aberdeen University, discussed the emerging world energy crisis with a view to finding practical understandable solutions. A business plan began to take shape a few months later. Through a mutual contact in the LED decorative lighting world, a core group of people, including John Allard a well recognised  LED lighting technician, came together, all driven by the same desire to launch newly emerging white task LED lighting technology into the commercial arena.

Greenled was born late in 2006 and spent its first year researching and understanding the sustainable lighting market. By early 2008 real revenue streams had started, as commercial customers, mainly in the leisure and retail sectors, took up the challenge of really understanding the implications of their energy consumption through Greenled’s own Cost of Light analysis system. After calculating a customer’s current lighting costs, Greenled is in a position to demonstrate impressive savings through its LED installation programmes, converting appropriate premises area by area on a roll-out basis.

The company anticipates significant growth in sales over the coming period as more and more laws and regulations come into effect forcing consumers to alter their behaviour and take action on energy-efficiency.
