	LED US INTO TEMPTATION Bars, cafés and hotels – including Swindon’s Best Western Bunsdon House hotel and Kensington’s Royal Garden hotel in west London – have all turned to Gloucestershire-based Greenled’s line-up of high performance LED systems as a cost-saving and sustainable alternative to traditional lighting that still provides a brighter, more appealing illumination. Compared with halogen bulbs, LED lights can save as much as 90% on energy bills, as they lose little lighting power through heat. They will last 25 times longer, produce a carbon footprint that is 75% smaller, and are recyclable. The range includes lamps, downlighters, uplighters, exterior and interior lights, drivers and specialist products such as SAD busters (for treating seasonal affective disorder), underwater lights and floodlights.
	GREEN LIGHT Gloucestershire-based Greenled Light Ltd has come up with a range of lights which can help hotels to reduce their substantial lighting energy costs, provide and ideal light and comfortably fit in downlighters and spotlight fittings. Having completed recent installations at Kensington’s Royal Garden Hotel and the Best Western Premier Blunsdon House Hotel near Swindon, Greenled Light is delighted with its clients’ response. Recent energy measurements indicate that the electricity consumed in their lighting has been reduced by approximately 75% and the hotel groups have commissioned Greenled to review their entire range of lighting across each estate. These clients committed to the Greenled light range because they wanted a truly sustainable solution which would use minimal energy. The lights used to replace the downlighters use only five watts each and will last for at least five years. Unlike CFL “low energy” technology, which contain sufficient mercury that it must be carefully disposed of at a cost, Greenled lights are almost entirely recyclable.
	Blunsdon House Hotel, Swindon Frustrated by the energy costs eating into their bottom line, Facilities Manager Steve Day at 116-bedroom Blunsdon House asked Greenled to replace the 50 watt halogen downlighters on one whole floor.
